Born into an Orthodox Jewish family (1950's) and went to Orthodox Yeshiva from kindergarten thru High School plus some Beis Medrash.Became an agnostic in my 20's and an atheist later on. Thanks for your blog ... it confirms a lot of what I have thought from hints picked up from books ... that maybe there *was an Abraham that learned stuff from Mesopotamia/Iran .. including Shabbat ... even Pesach ... which is a strange one - would be interested in your thoughts about Moses - seems to be stuff picked up when Canaan under Egypt .. mixed with the Iraqi god that also came in a basket down some bullrushes ... Don't you think the mix and true origins is *more* interesting than what we are 'supposed' to believe? I do.

I hope to do a post on some of the festivals. Many Jewish laws and customs predate the alleged Sinai revelation.

Moses is a tough one. Some say he was an Egyptian priest others say an Egyptian god.... I suspect Moses relates to Egyptian religion; serpent cult; & also the Midian temple dedicated to Osiris. The temple also prayed the Supreme God ELOHIM. (It is almost certain the hebrews believed there were other gods). The temple was in an area surounded by vulcanic mountains - likely gave rise to Sinai revelation myth.

I agree with you, but it also makes a compelling case that OJ is false.
